SKID.EXE AND BAC.EXE

The above two programs are written in DOS and were the original programs written for speed based on skid marks and the original program written to determined blood alcohol concentration for a reported amount of alcohol ingested. Both of these programs were actually used in Law Enforcement for a few years.

SKID.EXE

The Skid software program underwent numerous revisions during its use in the field. The finished product is the one offered above and is FREE of charge for anyone who desires to use or download it. Primarily it is set up for a novice reconstructionist but can be used by seasoned reconstructionists and gives accurate results with a standard deviation of ± .05. So a vehicle's skid marks of 120 ft long with 100% breaking efficiency on a highway with a drag factor of .07 would be traveling at 60 MPH ± 3 MPH or between 57-63 MPH at the time the vehicle entered the skid The program also allows one to use it for determining road grade, drag factor of a road by three means, chart, drag sled or actually vehicle tests. It is menu driven and quite easy to use. This is a comprehensive program which contains the minimum speed a vehicle was traveling when it entered the skid and the actual speed of a vehicle which enters a centrifugal yaw (spin out). There is a combined speed screen which encompasses the speed of a vehicle on two different surfaces, such as a vehicle passenger side skidding on the shoulder of a road while the driver's side was skidding on the blacktop. This program also corrects for breaking efficiency in skidding. There are help screens included and a users manual in PDF format. This program was used in the field for a number of fatal accidents and has been accepted in a number of jurisdictions as scientifically accurate and its results admitted in court(s). Will not work on Vista 7 64 bit architecture

BAC.EXE

The BAC software program was developed to check the accuracy of breathalyzer machines. It is rudimentary and as such it requires the end user to do some math. The program is a DOS based menu driven program which asks the user to input the amount of ETOH (Ethyl Alcohol = Liquor) into the program field. One should be cautious, since the program analyzes the data of ONCES OF ETOH CONSUMED NOT NUMBER OF DRINKS CONSUMED! So, if a subject had consumed 3 beers, that's 36 ounces of beer. One would have to know the alcohol content of the beer consumed. Typically a full logger beer has approximately 5% alcohol by volume. So 36 oz of beer would contain 1.8 Oz of ETOH. Similarly, if a subject consumed 3 one and a half ounce shots of 80 proof whiskey that person would have consumed 3 x 1.5 oz x 40% alcohol or 1.8 oz of ETOH. The remaining potion of the program is similar to other programs of its type. This software program as are all BAC programs and all breath testing instruments based on the Widmark Formula for determination of Blood Alcohol Concentration.

H-C's Acuclac™ BAC2008

This software is a menu driven DOS based computer program for determining the blood alcohol concentration of a subject who has ingested ETOH. It is a comprehensive BAC program which unlike the public domain BAC.EXE program offered free, this program allows the user to select the type of alcoholic beverage and the number of drinks. The program calculates the amount of alcohol in a subject based on the the times of consumption and the subject's weight. This program is designed to comprehensively give the subjects BAC based on the data input into the program. Naturally, it can calculate a person's BAC at a given time prior to consumption.

LINEAR

This software program is designed for determining the speed of two vehicles which collide. The basis for the program is the conservation of linear momentum formula. It is a DOS based menu driven program which asks for certain data. The data most typically is collected at the scene but may be obtained from investigations post accident at the scene. The best description of this program is the image of two pool balls colliding. Since the weight of the pool balls are similar enough to negate weighing them. If they strike each other at the same speed directly inline through the center of gravity they will stop abruptly. The two pool balls if hit at angles will separate and come to rest. Their speed can be calculated. Similarly two motor vehicles which collide at different angles will depart at different angles and their respective speed can be calculated by using this program. Post accident speed can be determined using the SKID program. If one knows the angle of approach of the vehicles, the weights of the vehicles, the angle of departure of the vehicles and the post collisions speed, the program will give you the speed of the two vehicles at the time of impact. If the vehicles skidded prior to collision their respective speeds can be calculated by the combined speed formula located in the SKID program offered here FREE. This program although menu driven does not have online help screens. It has an independent users guide which you can download with the purchase of this program.

CRUSH

This software is a DOS based menu driven program which seeks data from measurements of damage to motor vehicles which were involved in accidents. The program determines the speed at impact based on the amount of deformation or crush of the vehicle. The program differentiates between frontal impact from rear and side impact damage. Once the amount of crush is measured from the datum line or where the body of the vehicle should be located without damage, speed of the skidding vehicle can be determined from the deformation of the vehicle. If the data from both vehicles are available, the combined speed formula will give an accurate speed of the vehicles at the point of impact.

H-C Acucalc's™ DRINKS09.EXE

This software is a DOS based menu driven program which seeks information from reported or known Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) reports. This program will calculate the amount of alcohol a subject consumed throughout the entire time of consumption. The know data that is required is the subjects weight, the reported BAC and the duration of consumption in hours.

THIS PROGRAM IS FOR SALE BY DOWNLOAD FOR $80.00

H-C's Acucalc™ BACKCALC.EXE

This software is a DOS based menu driven program which will calculate the subjects Blood Alcohol Concentration at any given time based upon two BAC tests. Normally the police will take two BAC samples which are several minutes apart. Knowing the BAC tests and the time intervals between the two tests, this software will calculate the subjects BAC at time of arrest or any time during or after consumption.

H-C's Acucalc™ WINBAC2009

This software is Windows® based computer program designed to incorporate every known alcoholic beverage. It will calculate the amount of ETOH from each drink, based on brand name, type of beverage and volume per drink serving(s). The program permits hours and minutes rather than static time of just hours. The results can be saved or printed and is date and time stamped if the user so chooses. This program has a unique feature where if a subject has taken two breath tests the Acucalc™ back-calculation screen will determine the subjects BAC at any given time prior to the breath tests. It is a handy tool for determining if the subject was under or over the statutory BAC limit in a given jurisdiction. This program can also determine based on a breath test result the number of alcohol beverages one would have to ingest to reach that level recorded on the breath test instrument. It has online help screens and has a PDF format user's guide. This software can be purchased and used on your web site as an advertising tool for attorneys, insurance companies and law enforcement agencies.

H-C's Acucalc™ WINSKID

This is a software is a Windows® based computer program for the determination of speed from a skidding motor vehicle. It is very similar to the SKID program offered free but has a number of enhancements including plain text entry of data and speed from different types of vehicles as in motor cycles and trucks. Further this new 2009 program can calculate linear momentum from two vehicles if certain data is known no need to have a stand alone linear program. It also incorporates reaction time and an anatomy of a collision demonstrating the points of probable perception, point of actual perception, key point, the point of no escape and the point of impact all based on the speed derived from skid marks. The time when an operators reaction time (simple or complex) in engaging the breaks based on the speed of the vehicle might be too late to avoid the collision. As an added bonus, this program can calculate the acceleration of a motor vehicle base on time and speed. This program comes with online help screens and has a PDF format user's guide.

THIS PROGRAM IS FOR SALE BY DOWNLOAD WHICH INCLUDES WINLINEAR FOR $250.00

WINLINEAR

This software is a Windows® based computer program which is similar in respects to the DOS based linear program but has additional menus including the curb weights of most makes and model motor vehicles still being used as well as the newer models. It incorporates a skid program for pre-impact and post-impact minimum speed calculations and that output data will automatically be inputted to the linear program. There is a tutorial as to determination of angle of impact based on the angle of deformation an how to calculate that angle. The angle of departure must be determined from the scene or a photograph thereof. If that data is available, the program will calculate the speed of both vehicles at the time of impact and the approach speeds prior to impact.

H-C Acucalc™ DRIVE SAFE

This is software is a menu driven DOS based computer program which will inform the user when it is safe to drive a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol and then stopping. This program will calculate the amount of EtOH a person has consumed, the rate of catabolism, the length of time from the time of ending consumption until the persons BAC is at a level at or below .08. The standard deviation of this program is at .0001. It is better than any currently referenced chart telling one what their BAC is based on their weight and number of "drinks" consumed. This program will inform the person when it is safe to drive after consuming alcohol (EtOH).

THE COST OF THIS PROGRAM FOR DOWNLOAD IS $100.00
